Decisions, decisions
|
I’ve just decided I’m going to do the BYU EMPA.I’ve grappled with the decision for a while now. I was never planning any more formal education. There is no precedent in my pedigree for this much book learning. My boss has been talking up the EMBA for months. Nearly everyday he has a clever quote, story or exercise to share with us. It’s entertaining and instructive. I’ve learned a lot about project management, negotiating and business; and I even enjoyed it! But the EMBA is just too much of a leap. For a kid who started college painting and drawing, it is just a little to early to make so dramatic a switch. Isn’t business school for tie-wearing, money-grubbing, mediocre golfers who love nothing more than beating the next guy at anything and everything? That’s someone else, not me. I’m not even mediocre at golf, I’m downright pathetic. Thankfully, the EMPA is me. I can get sound business skills and service-oriented training. I have a desire to make others lives better and this can give me the tools to be more successful. I can carve out a niche for friendly, easy-going, service-oriented golf retards who just want everyone to get along. Hooray! |

Some business men are great golfers, they have to be becuase they love to compete with and beat everyone.
