I immensely enjoyed President Hinckley’s recent Devotional Address. I was particularly bolstered by his comments on work. Quoting a recent Fortune Magazine article, President Hinckley said:
[we] will achieve greatness only through an enormous amount of hard work over many years. . . . The good news is that [our] lack of a natural gift is irrelevant—talent has little or nothing to do with greatness. . . .Nobody is great without work. As I look around, I see many web designers who are much more talented than I am. It is good to know that if I stick to my craft, I will get better and I can become great. Working hard and never giving up are things I posses and they can get me there.
Creativity is hard to come by. That’s why I always keep my ear close to the ground for ways to boost creativity. The other day I found this little gem in the article Get Out from Behind the Curtain at A List Apart:
Provide enough materials to create a sense of plenty. If participants perceive a lack of materials, they may tend to censor themselves, only using the paper for their “best†ideas.
In a group or by yourself, make sure you have more than you need. This will create an environment where many ideas can get root and flourish.

Our fourth girl was born 24 August at 9:08 AM and we love her. She’s absolutely beautiful. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 21″ long. The delivery went very smoothly (at least from where I was standing) and mother and baby are doing well.
