Quail chicks

Saturday morning was crazy. But before the craziness started, the girls were outside and discovered  four baby quail chicks. They were very little. Their bodies were like two furry grapes stuck together with legs on the bottom. But they could run. They were so cute–little puff balls scurrying on tiny legs.

Jay called for Father’s day today. It was so nice to talk to him. He is in SF for a month working. He’s got two more weeks. I didn’t even know he was there so I’m glad he called. He’s been keeping himself busy working with the missionaries. He invited an investigator over to his apartment for lunch today. The investigator is getting baptized this week. He caught a couple basketball games and plans to make one or two visits to the Oakland temple before he leaves. Sounds like a great use of time. I miss him.

I also missed my Dad today. We talked with the Aaronic priesthood about the new Duty to God program. After that, I showed a church video about fathers and sons. I talked with them about my dad and encouraged them to take an interest in their fathers and seek their advice while they are able. I sure wish I could get my dad’s advice now. I sure could use a shoulder to lean on from time to time. It comforts me to know that I’ll see him again someday. Oh how I look forward to that day!
