Harold B. Lee Library
It was an honor and a pleasure to return to Brigham Young University, my alma mater, 5 years after graduation as the designer for the Harold B. Lee Library, the academic library of the university. I spent the next 5 years moving the library’s website into the 21st century.
In my time there, I:
- Created the library’s first CMS (built on WordPress Multiuser).
- Created the library’s web design department, starting with only me, it eventually consisted of two full-time employees and several student employees.
- Designed search interface for enterprise federated search tool, Primo.
- Lead project to redesign library site from top to bottom, to align with goals of library administration and library patrons.
- Built library’s first mobile optimized web presence.
- Worked with library administrators to establish policies and standards for the continued success of library web presence.
- Consulted with university administrators on redesign of university website.
Is was a golden age of advancement and progression. I enjoyed the challenge and found it very satisfying. I enjoyed opportunities to conduct user research, market library services and resources, and establish the library brand online.
